- Appointment confirmations and reminders

- Open enrollment deadlines and special enrollment period alerts
- Application status updates
- Responses to inquiries you initiate via text

2. How to Opt In
You may opt in to receive SMS messages from us in the following ways:

- Texting a keyword to our business number
- Verbally or in writing requesting to communicate by text during a consultation
- Providing your mobile number during the enrollment process and indicating you wish to receive text updates
By opting in, you confirm that you are the authorized user of the mobile number provided and that you are at least 18 years of age.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies depending on your relationship with us and your coverage needs. You may receive:
- 1–3 messages per month during routine service periods
- More frequent messages during open enrollment (November–January) or if you initiate a conversation
- Transactional messages (appointment reminders, application updates) as needed
We do not send bulk promotional blasts. Every message we send is relevant to your insurance situation or initiated by your inquiry.
4. Message & Data Rates
Standard message and data rates may apply to messages you send and receive. These charges are billed by your mobile carrier and are separate from any costs associated with your insurance coverage. Lakeland Health Insurance does not charge any fee for participation in this SMS program.
If you are unsure whether your carrier plan includes unlimited texting, contact your carrier directly before opting in.
5. Supported Keywords
The following keywords are supported at any time by replying to any message from our number:
After replying STOP: You will receive one final confirmation message and then no further messages from our program. Your opt-out will be honored immediately. You may re-subscribe at any time by texting START or by contacting us directly.
6. How We Use Your Mobile Number
Your mobile phone number and message history are used exclusively for:
- Delivering messages within this SMS program
- Maintaining records of your consent (date, time, method of opt-in)
- Responding to opt-out and help requests
- Internal compliance recordkeeping
We maintain records of SMS consent including the date, time, and method of your opt-in, as required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and applicable carrier requirements.
7. Information We Do NOT Share
Your mobile number and SMS opt-in data are never:
- Sold to third parties, data brokers, or lead aggregators
- Shared with other Third-Party Marketing Organizations (TPMOs) without your prior written consent
- Used for purposes unrelated to your insurance consultation and enrollment
- Shared with carriers for marketing purposes without your knowledge
Medicare-specific notice: Your mobile number and Medicare-related communication data will not be shared with other TPMOs without your prior express written consent, consistent with CMS marketing regulations (42 CFR 422.2274 and 423.2274).
8. Wireless Carrier Disclaimer
Lakeland Health Insurance is not responsible for any delays or failures in the receipt of any SMS messages. Delivery of SMS messages is subject to effective transmission from your mobile carrier network. Message delivery is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
This service is available on most major U.S. wireless carriers. If you experience issues receiving messages, contact us directly.
9. Privacy of Message Content
Because insurance-related communications may contain personal health and financial information, please be aware of the following:
- Do not share your phone with others if you are receiving insurance-related text messages
- We will never ask you to provide your Social Security number, full Medicare ID, or bank account information via SMS
- If you receive a suspicious message claiming to be from us, do not respond — call us directly at (863) 640-3102
10. Data Security & Retention
Mobile numbers and SMS consent records are stored securely within our CRM and communication systems. Access is restricted to authorized staff only. Consent records are retained for the duration of the business relationship plus a minimum of four (4) years, consistent with TCPA requirements. All data security practices described in our full Privacy Policy apply to SMS data.
11. Your Rights
You have the right at any time to:
- Opt out of SMS communications (reply STOP or contact us directly)
- Request confirmation of whether we have your mobile number on file
- Request correction of an incorrect number in our records
